HCloud ("the app", "we", "us") is a HarmonyOS app by GBTechReviews (Harmoni Productions) that lets you back up your own photos, videos, and files to your own Google Drive and/or Google Photos account. HCloud has no servers of its own — it connects your device directly to Google's services using your Google sign-in. We never receive, store, or see your files.
With your permission, HCloud can:
The app keeps a small amount of data locally on your phone so it can work properly: your Google sign-in token, your chosen theme and settings, backup counts and timestamps, and — if a backup is interrupted — the list of items still waiting so it can carry on later. None of this leaves your device.
Access. With your consent via Google sign-in, HCloud accesses: (a) your Google Drive, limited to files and folders the app itself creates (drive.file scope); (b) the ability to upload to your Google Photos library (photoslibrary.appendonly scope); and (c) a listing of the photos and videos HCloud itself has uploaded to Google Photos (photoslibrary.readonly.appcreateddata scope). HCloud cannot see any other content in your Drive or Photos library.
Use. This access is used for one purpose only: uploading the photos, videos, and files you choose to your own Google account, and displaying to you what the app has uploaded. Google user data is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any other purpose.
Storage. HCloud does not operate any servers, and no Google user data is stored by us. The only Google-related data kept on your device is your OAuth sign-in token and a local record of items the app has uploaded, both held in the app's private, sandboxed storage on your phone. Your files are transferred directly from your device to Google and are stored only in your own Google account.
Sharing. HCloud does not share, transfer, sell, or disclose Google user data to any third party, ever. No human at Harmoni Productions can read your data, because it never reaches us.
Retention and deletion. The sign-in token and local records are deleted when you disconnect Google inside the app or uninstall it. You can revoke HCloud's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
HCloud's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Everything you back up through HCloud stays in your own Google account, governed by Google's own privacy policy. HCloud simply provides the interface to put it there.
You can disconnect Google at any time inside the app, which removes the stored sign-in token from your device. You can also revoke HCloud's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored settings. Items already uploaded remain in your Google account, managed by you like anything else stored there.
HCloud is not directed at children under 13, or the relevant minimum age in their country or region, and does not knowingly collect information from them.
